Phylogenetic Relationships of the Genus Gerrhosaurus (Reptilia: Gerrhosauridae) Based on Morphology

Stephen M. Lochetto · 2002 · MSc thesis, Villanova University

Abstract

A morphology-based phylogenetic analysis of the African plated lizards of the genus Gerrhosaurus (family Gerrhosauridae). The study evaluates skeletal and external morphological characters to reconstruct relationships within the group, and is cited in subsequent syntheses of southern African reptile phylogenetics (Lamb et al. 2003; Bates et al. 2013).

Pending confirmation. The exact degree, year, and citation form for this unpublished thesis are drawn from the works that cite it and await Stephen’s confirmation.

This thesis sits on the herpetology side of the faunalore project: reptiles studied as biological subjects, using morphological characters to reconstruct evolutionary relationships among the African plated lizards.
