HerpetologyFaunalore book review
Review of Health and Welfare of Captive Reptiles, 2nd ed.
Abstract
A review of the second edition of Health and Welfare of Captive Reptiles, assessing the volume as a reference for the biology and ethical care of reptiles kept in captivity.
This review bridges the two pillars of the faunalore project: the herpetology of reptile biology and the anthrozoology of how people keep and care for animals. Reptile welfare is exactly the seam where the science of the animal meets the culture of living with it.
